15 minutes of bliss
when you're waiting near an airport
for your lover
the 5 seconds in between—

Soars the roars of departure
like the little engine that could
rings true in my ear—

I think I can... I think I can...
propels my exhausted imagination
into seeing what's not there.

April Delgado: April Delgado (28) is a Los Angeles-based artist and poet. She lives with her partner, writer Karen Krenis, their two dogs (Sydney and Desmond) and their cat (Mojo). Recently, Delgado's artwork was featured on getunderground.com and staticfiends.com. Delgado's current projects include a series of paintings for an upcoming show and a self-published comic book.
