I grew up in Minneapolis, came to California as a teenager, went haywire, went to UC Berkeley, graduated in English Lit. My short stories have appeared in Epoch, Cimarron Review, Prism International, Artisan, In Posse Review, Pulse, Starry Night Review, Stirring, The Pedestal Magazine, Cyber Oasis, FictionWarehouse, Zacatecas Review, Eyeshot, Pig Iron Malt, The ShadowShow, upcoming in The Summerset Review. I write advertising to pay the rent. Sometimes I can't pay the rent. My novel is emerging at the rate of an average continent. Yes, I am scared.

(Her necessary entrance into the grownup world has led her to give up on controversial, potentially incriminating author biographies in favor of the succinct and unrevealing.)

Herbert Foster Kaufman
Herbert Foster Kaufman has published short fiction and poetry in Wasted Space, Errata, The Underwood Review, Sugar Mule, Cherry Bleeds, Thought Magazine and Caveat Lector. His play Montgomery Clift Can't Save You was performed at the Sushi Gallery in San Diego. He has written restaurant reviews for local papers and ad copy for Playboy. His novel A Testament to Grace was released in 2000. His second book, a collection of short stories called Trouble and Poison will be published by Hanover Press in 2003.

Colin Pink
Colin Pink writes plays and prose fiction. He lives in London. His stories have appear in various small press magazines and on the internet. His plays have been performed in Brighton, New York City, San Diego and Malibu. His most recent play 'Minotaur' was premiered in NYC in April. In June his play 'Touch' will be performed at the Golden Hills Dramatic Arts Festival in San Diego.

Kelly Spitzer, a native to the mountain desert of southwest Colorado, now lives in the Pacific Northwest. She holds a degree in political economy from the Evergreen State College and is currently working on a series of political mystery novels featuring P.I. CJ Maroon. Kelly's writings have appeared, or will be appearing, in Retrozine, Word Riot, Orchard Press Mysteries and Muse Apprentice Guild.

Steve Young
Steve Young has been a reporter and editor for the past fifteen years. He’s been a correspondent for Reuters International and NPR and has also filed for the BBC, CBC, and the Boston Globe. He’s won numerous journalism awards including, in 1997, a national Clarion Award for his investigative reporting. Young has an MFA in Fiction from Vermont College and has published several short stories, including “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square” which appeared in last September’s Carve Magazine (and the 2002 Best of Carve). That story has been nominated for this year’s O.Henry, Pushcart and BASS prizes. He also has a story in the current Mindprints and the upcoming EWG Presents. Young grew up in Vermont. He currently lives and writes on Cape Cod.

Sean's fiction has been defined as dark realism, his subjects rooted in the peculiar nature of everyday life. His work has or will be published in Love Under Foot and Best Gay Erotica 2002, and appeared online in Lodestar Quarterly and 3AM Magazine. He is currently working on a collection of short stories and a novel. In addition to writing, he has the pleasure of editing Outsider Ink and Velvet Mafia: Dangerous Queer Fiction. Sean lives in New York with his partner, photographer Jack Slomovits, and their two dogs. Together they form Blowsquish.com, an internet design company.
