No, Kevin Dresser's artwork hasn't yet been exhibited in galleries. But if you've looked closely at subway platforms, abandoned cars and cinderblock walls in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan, you've probably seen his paintings. After seven years as an street artist, Dresser has recently made the transition to gallery art. His recent paintings synthesize his guerrilla street art, his love of bygone Americana, and the work he has done as a type designer. "My art now is more personal than it was when I was just one of many graffiti writers doing large-scale letterform paintings. It is a reflection of the things I find beautiful, patterns, metal and rust," he says. View his work on Outsider Ink |
